Cape Hillsborough National Park
Located on the edge of Cape Hillsborough National Park, this is a Queensland vacation destination not to be missed: Cape Hillsborough Beach, also known as Casuarina Beach.
Contrary to what you might expect, this beach isn’t the busiest during the heat of the day. In the summer months, crowds of people gather on the soft sand as early as 5 a.m. Visitors are here for one reason and only one reason to watch the sun rise over the horizon and enjoy the view as kangaroos and wallabies hop along the beach for their early morning food.
Once you’ve enjoyed the spectacle, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied for the rest of the day:
- Hike one of the four short walks in the national park to explore the native rainforest and bushland.
- Enjoy a private sunset over the seldom-visited Hidden Valley Bat.
