Air Canada has had problems getting Canadians interested in international travel since the coronavirus pandemic emerged, and the Canadian government has put in place a mandatory 14-day quarantine for international travelers returning to the country. To increase sales, Air Canada launched a new Infinite Canada Flight Pass on September 16. The new pass is designed to give customers much more flexibility when booking domestic flights. With the new pass you can book trips without blocking or booking restrictions for a flat fee, make changes or cancellations without penalty and fly as often as you want for up to three months (depending on the length of the pass).

Air Canada has continuously urged the Canadian government to relax quarantine restrictions. Actually. Air Canada President and CEO Calin Rovinescu suggested that much of the airline’s lost profits were due to Canada’s “devastating and unprecedented … COVID-19 pandemic and government-imposed travel and border restrictions and quarantine requirements.” Rovinescu continued, “… Canada’s federal and inter-provincial restrictions are among the strictest in the world.”
